Student Leadership Counsel, Oakland Unified School District
The Oakland Unified School District is the only district where you'll find a department solely focused on African American Male Achievement. Here students can take the elective titled, "Mastering Our Cultural Identity: African American Male Image". Read this New York Times article from Patricia Leigh Brown to learn how this district is helping our black boys see they truly are strong, intelligent, and talented.

Now, how can we get this curriculum in every school across the nation?
